Nurturing Minds in Nature
Nature based youth counselling
Welcome to SGZ Counselling. I offer Nature based youth counselling and provide a calm, supportive space for young people to grow, heal, and find their own path through in-person sessions in an outdoors setting.
An Alternative Path Towards Change
Nature based youth counselling

Nature as a resource
Noticing how the natural environment can regulate the nervous system and build resilience in young minds.
Promoting connection and attachment
Focusing on the interconnectedness of emotional health, physical activity, and awareness of your environment.
My practice integrates conventional therapeutic techniques with the grounding influence of the natural world. By moving counselling outdoors, we break away from the clinical setting to foster a sense of freedom and safety that can feel different to what can be found within four walls.
What I offer

Individual Counselling
Weekly, 50 min sessions, for young people to navigate emotional challenges in a safe, outdoor environment.

My relationship with Nature
I’m a born and bred Londoner, which impacted my encounters with Nature as I grew up; mainly in local parks and very fortunately with access to a garden. The countryside felt far away, and not necessarily an easy place to explore. I had to leave London and the UK to have my first whole bodied experience of feeling completely at home, comfortable and accepted in an outdoor setting. I can look back now and see how this was the start of my relationship with Nature, which continues to deepen and develop to this day.
I’m really excited about the prospect of taking my practice outdoors to offer up the potential for new or reignited relationships between young people and Nature, as a foundation for health, connection and regulation.
About me
My work
Hello, I’m a South London-based counsellor for children and teenagers, and a registered member of the BACP. Alongside my core training, I hold a certificate in Nature Allied Psychotherapy, reflecting my passion for how the outdoors can help us heal.
With experience in schools, I’ve supported young people facing challenges like anxiety, neurodiversity, and school attendance issues. I've noticed that a traditional therapy room setting can sometimes be off-putting or limit the potential gains of therapeutic work and this is one of the reasons why I am offering nature based counselling sessions as an alternative.
Being in nature allows us to engage all our five senses, making it easier for young people to express their feelings in a way that feels natural and unforced. Whether we are walking or simply sitting outside, my goal is to provide a safe and nurturing space where you or your child can feel grounded and regulated, heard and supported.
“The best place to enjoy nature is close to home.”
