The sessions take place in Norwood Park, Salters Hill, SE19.
Each 50 min counselling session costs £65, and the 60 min assessment session also costs £65. There is no charge for the initial 20 min telephone consultation.
Everyone is different, so there’s no fixed number of sessions. Some young people find a few sessions are enough to feel a shift, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll review how things are going together and decide what feels right for you or your young person, rather than committing to a set package upfront.
Sessions will go ahead outside in all weathers, so it’s important that you have appropriate clothing and footwear. If there are weather warnings in place for high winds or high temperatures, we’ll talk about how this might affect us and make a decision together.
In the winter months, sessions still take place outdoors. We’ll choose locations that feel as sheltered and comfortable as possible, but it’s important that you come prepared with warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. Shorter days and colder weather can affect how we use the space, so we’ll keep checking in together about what feels manageable and make adjustments if needed.
If you’re curious about trying outdoor counselling with me, for you, your child or young person, the next step is to get in touch so we can have a free 20 min conversation to discuss your needs. You can use the contact form or ‘Book a Call’ button on this page to reach me. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you here, any access or safety needs, and how outdoor sessions might work for you. We will then decide on a time to have a fuller 60 min initial consultation online so I can gather relevant background information. This consultation is also an opportunity to further inform how you feel about working with me and will also inform my decision as to whether I am an appropriate counsellor for you, your child or young person.
I work with young people from the age of 11 upwards. The majority of my experience has been working with secondary aged children from Y7 to Y13. I would also be available to work with young adults up to the age of 25.
Rather than thinking about what issues are appropriate I think it might be more relevant to consider how you might feel in the outdoors. For example would you prefer to be in the fresh air rather than in a small room? Would you feel more comfortable walking or sitting alongside someone rather than sitting opposite them and having to make eye contact? Do you do better when there are a variety of things in your eyeline that you can focus on? The counselling I am offering may suit you if your answer is yes to these questions. The issues that you want to work on will be discussed in an initial call and our first online meeting when we can decide together whether I am the right counsellor for you.
